Nevada's Taua Only Offensive Weapon

Though the Nevada Wolfpack aerial attack struggled to get anything established in a 35-0 loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Saturday afternoon, its generally dominating ground game still managed to turn heads, with starting tailback Vai Taua

netting 114 yards on 18 carries and adding three receptions for 38 yards.

At least Taua was capable of accomplishing something that the rest of the Nevada offense seemed unable to do: consistently move the ball, with an average of 6.3 yards a carry. Given additional opportunities to work with the ball, Taua and the Wolfpack may have been a bit more of a threat in this game. Still, it is promising to see the junior putting up the kinds of numbers he did against such a stifling defense.
